Social media pricing
How much does social media marketing cost?
Social media management for a small business usually costs $500 to $3,000 a month with an agency, or $20 to $75 an hour with a freelancer. Paid ads on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn are a separate budget, often $300 to $3,000 a month for local businesses. Video production, photography and influencer work usually cost extra.

"Social media marketing" covers two different jobs: organic management (posting, replying, building a following) and paid social (ads that target people by location and interest). They are priced separately, so compare quotes job by job.

Typical social media pricing
| What you buy | Typical range | What it usually covers |
|---|---|---|
| Basic management | $500–$1,000 / month | 2–3 platforms, a few posts a week, scheduled from your photos |
| Full management | $1,000–$3,000 / month | Content calendar, custom graphics, short video, comment and message replies, monthly report |
| Paid social management | $500–$2,000 / month, or 10–20% of spend | Ad setup, audiences, creative testing, lead tracking |
| Ad spend (paid to Meta, LinkedIn, etc.) | $300–$3,000 / month for most local businesses | Separate from management |
| Freelancer, hourly | $20–$75 / hour | Posting and scheduling; strategy varies |
Ranges are typical US market prices in 2026 for small and mid-sized businesses. They vary by provider, region and scope, and they are not CasperB2B's prices.
What drives the cost
- How much original content. Reposting your photos is cheap. Shooting video, editing reels and designing graphics is where the hours go.
- Number of platforms. Each one has its own format and audience. Two done well beat five done badly.
- Community management. Replying to comments and messages within hours is real work, and it is where leads hide.
- Ads and tracking. Running ads that send leads to your CRM takes more skill than boosting a post.
Is social media worth it for a small business?
For restaurants, salons, gyms, med spas and home services, social media works as proof: people check your page before they call. For B2B companies, LinkedIn matters more than Instagram. If you need calls this month, Google Ads or local SEO usually bring buyers faster, because those people are already searching.
CasperB2B offers social media management and social media advertising, with every lead followed up automatically. If you would rather have one person in-house, a social media virtual assistant is another option. We quote on a 15-minute fit call.
Social media cost questions
Is ad spend included in social media management?
Usually not. Ad budgets are paid directly to Meta, LinkedIn or TikTok. Make sure the ad account is in your business's name.
How many posts a week do I need?
Three to five good posts a week on one or two platforms is enough for most local businesses. Consistency matters more than volume.
Why are some packages only $300 a month?
Low-cost packages usually mean templated posts with no original photos or video, and no one replying to messages. That keeps the page active but rarely brings customers.
Which platform should a small business start with?
Facebook and Instagram for local consumer businesses, LinkedIn for B2B, and Google Business Profile posts for everyone who wants calls from Google.
How long before social media brings customers?
Organic growth takes three to six months of steady posting. Paid social can bring leads within weeks if the offer and targeting are right.
Can I do social media myself?
Yes. Many owners post themselves and hire help for ads and video. A free plan from our content idea generator is a good start.
What should a monthly social media report show?
Leads, messages and calls from social, not just likes. Reach and followers matter only if they turn into customers.
